Laundry Myths, Busted

Myth: More detergent means cleaner laundry.

Truth: Too much detergent leaves residue that makes fabrics stiff and dull. Always stick to the recommended dose.

Myth: Hot washes work best.

Truth: High heat can shrink or fade natural fibres. A gentle 30–40°C wash with eco laundry detergent is usually enough.

Myth: Fabric conditioner is essential for softness. 

Truth: Natural fibres like linen and cotton will soften organically over time. Of course, if you want even more softness and a calming scent (and who wouldn't want that) our Eco Fabric Conditioner is perfect —but it’s not always necessary.

How to Wash Bedding the Right Way.

To keep your Bedfolk bedding beautiful for years, follow these care tips:

Cotton Bedding

• Wash separately at gentle 40-degree cycle (up to 60°C if needed).

• Use mild detergent + optional fabric conditioner.

• Tumble dry low or line dry.

• A quick iron will give Luxe Cotton it's characteristic shine, but we recommend leaving Relaxed Cotton un-ironed for a lived-in look. 

Linen Bedding

• Wash at 40°C, avoiding over-drying.

• Naturally softens over time—no need for excess softener.

• Steam or iron while damp if you prefer a crisp finish.

Quilts & Throws

• Wash gently at 30–40°C.

• Low tumble or line dry.

• Do not iron.

Duvets & Pillows

• Air regularly.

• Prefer professional laundering for re-lofting.

• Low tumble for synthetic fills; dry clean only for down.
