Envelope vs. Side Opening Pillows: What's The Difference
This might well be our most frequently asked question, with a very simple answer (and we love to keep things simple).
When we first started Bedfolk, it was envelope back pillowcases all the way. But after listening to some of your feedback, we realised it was really down to personal preference – and some of you felt very strongly that we should introduce the more traditional side opening pillowcases.
To help you create the bespoke bed of your dream, you now have the choice between these two styles of pillowcase across multiple bedding designs. So, what's the difference?
Envelope Back Pillowcases
This is our signature Bedfolk pillow style, available across the range.
Designed with an inner flap that tucks your pillow in completely, envelope back pillowcases provide a neat, seamless look. This design keeps your pillow snugly in place, so it’s less likely to slip out—perfect for sleepers who toss and turn.
Side Opening Pillowcases
The classic side-opening style is all about easy access. With the same flap construction as the envelope style, this one simply means the pillow can be inserted at the end of the case. If you're someone who likes to sleep on both sides of the pillow throughout the night, this is likely the one for you.
